Abstract

Russian NIIP radar company will supply a more advanced version of its N011M phased-array radar to the Su-30MKI two-seat fighter fleet of India. The N011M, a multi-mode dual frequency band radar, has the capability to track 15 air targets and engage four to six of the targets at the same time. The radar also offers an 80km to 100km and 30km to 40km search range for targets with 2sq/m cross-section and in a head-on position, and tail-on position, respectively, as well as a maximum search range of 400km for large air targets such as airborne early warning and control aircraft. The radar also provides location for targets at ranges of up to 200km in an air-to-ground mode, and perform ground mapping, terrain-following and terrain-avoidance missions.
