Abstract

Environmental due diligence is becoming a more important feature in business negotiations. Some purchasers are not only looking at the immediate affects of environmental issues but on the possible implications of those issues preventing their exit. Many managers now recognize environmental hazards should be dealt with immediately rather than leaving them for the future. New UK environmental legislation will have an impact on the environmental liabilities for businesses. The environmental due diligence process is also being used to evaluate safety and health issues.
