Abstract
- Activists in both the Democrat and Republican camps in the US are talking excitedly about the prospect of a presidential race between Hillary Rodham Clinton and Elizabeth 'Liddy' Dole. Elizabeth Dole announced on Jan. 4, 1999, that she was resigning from the top job at the American Red Cross, while New Jersey senator Robert Torricelli suggested on Jan. 3, 1999, that Hillary Clinton would run for the senate in 2000. Elizabeth Dole and Hillary Clinton both come from Methodist middle-class families, trained as Ivy-league lawyers and could undoubtedly run for the presidency.
