Abstract

The synthesis and structural characterization of a family of vanadium(III) and oxovanadium(IV/V) complexes with the ligands, N-(2-nitrophenyl)pyridine-2-carboxamide, N-(phenyl)pyridine-2-carboxamide and N-(2-pyridyl)acetamide, were described. The compounds were prepared and characterized both in solid state and in solution. The optical, magnetic and infrared characteristics of the compounds were also investigated. All the vanadium compounds consist of a vanadium-amide oxygen bond.
