A sulfoxide-based ring annelation approach of used, many-membered ring N,S-heterocycles

A study was conducted to analyze a novel way to several-membered ring N,S-heterocycles supporting sulfoxide electrophilic sulfenylation followed by ring expansion of the determined sulfonium salt intermediate for 9 and 10-membered-ring compounds. The analysis was carried out under Pummerer rearrangement conditions. Results indicated that the annelation approach is capable of supporting a range of new compounds from a number of synthetic protocols.
