The Epson Stylus Color 400 ink jet printer, priced at $299, provides high print quality in color and produces gray graphics quickly. It is somewhat slower when printing text. The Hewlett Packard DeskJet 890Cxi, priced at $799, is excellent at photo reproduction and has overall high print quality. The NEC Superscript 860 black-and-white laser printer, priced at $849, is fast and renders excellent print quality. Its printing costs are low and the toner unit is easy to change.
