Who owns Stephen's story?

The Government injunction to prevent the Sunday Telegraph printing leaked extracts of the Stephen Lawrence inquiry report on Feb. 21, 1999, was another dramatic twist in newspapers' battle for ownership of the Lawrence story. Every newspaper wants to be able to say that it provided the best coverage of the Lawrence story yet the national media had shown very little interest in the story prior to the Daily Mail's now famous 'Murderers' front page. Former editor of black paper the Weekly Journal Richard Adeshiyan describes the behaviour of the white press as bandwagon journalism.
