Abstract

Research was conducted to examine the electron-transfer properties of the dinuclear complex (fulvalenediyl)Co2(Et2B4H4)2 using spectroscopic and electrochemical methods. Optical spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy and electron spin resonance spectroscopy were performed in the B-H stretching region. Results suggest strong metal-metal interactions in the d6d7 monoanion which appear to be greater for the electronic configuration with the higher electron count.
