Abstract: A study was conducted to analyze narcolepsy in canines. Several genomic clones supporting the canarc-1 marker and the variable heavy chain immunoglobulin region were determined in canines. These were partially sequenced and mapped onto specific dog chromosomes using fluorescence in situ hybridization. In addition, the genomic contig is extended using a novel canine BAC library to determine the associated human region of conserved synteny.
