Second-harmonic generation properties of 2-amino-5-nitropyridinium-dihydrogenarsenate and -dihydrogenphosphate organic-inorganic crystals

A study was conducted to compare the linear and nonlinear optical properties of 2-amino-5-nitropyridinium-dihydrogenarsenate and -dihydrogenphosphate organic-inorganic crystals. The measured nonlinear coefficients of both crystals were found to be high enough for many efficient optical interactions such as tuning optical parametric oscillators. Results also showed that the dispersion in wavelength of the crystals' reflective indices allows phase matching in their complete transparency range from 420 to 1400 nm.
