Abstract

Houstion design agency Pennebaker LMC faced unusual legal problems after accepting 300 bottles of 1996 private-label wine from a client who had hired it to design wine labels. Federal alcohol regulations led to endless hassles with shipping and disbursement, and a gauntlet ensued when agency president Ward Pennebaker challenged staffers to conceive labels for the shop itself because each had to be approved according to state and federal wine labeling laws. Some of the labels the agency ended up using were El NiNo ViNo and A Time To Toast. The wine is given only to clients and friends.<br />Pennebaker.
