Heat flux measurements in homogeneous curved shear flow

Abstract

Research is conducted to examine turbulent heat fluxes in homogeneous curved shear flow. The measurements are performed far downstream of a thermal line source in both destabilized and stabilized curved shear flow. The curvature is observed to affect the heat fluxes due to its impact on the turbulence kinetic energy of the flow. Results are in good agreement with previous findings showing that momentum transport in curved boundary layers are more strongly affected by flow curvature than heat transport.
