Abstract

A study was conducted to analyze the phospholipid composition requirements for maximum prothrombin activation and factor Va inactivation by activated protein C anticoagulant. A three-stage assay was utilized to examine factor Va inactivation. Results indicated that changes in the phospholipid composition of cells can influence procoagulant and anticoagulant reactions under normal and pathological environments.
