Lead-doped single crystals of Ln(sub 1-x-y)Sr(sub x)Pb(sub y)MnO3

A flux solution of PbF2 and PbO was used to obtain single crystals of Ln(sub 1-x-y)Sr(sub x)Pb(sub y)MnO3 with sizes up to 3 cubic cm. The content of Pb was found to be dependent upon temperature. The crystals exhibited a sharp transition of ferromagnetic metallic to paramagnetic insulating behavior. The behavior of the magnetotransport property of lead-doped perovskite manganites was observed to be similar to the behavior of those doped with only Sr or Ca.
