Abstract

A study was conducted to analyze the Kerr effect of Co(sub x)Ag(sub 100-x) granular films. The films were annealed at 100, 250, 400 and 500 degrees C. The dielectric function and the Kerr effect were determined using a spectroscopic ellipsometer and a magneto-optical kerr spectrometer in the 1.5-4.5 eV photon energy range. Experimental results indicated that the Kerr effect improved with increases in the annealing temperature.
