Abstract
- Studies of catalytic enantioselective reactions of imines have aimed at establishing highly efficient processes for the synthesis of chiral nitrogen-containing compounds. However, several limitations have hindered the attainment of this goal. Carbon-carbon bond-forming reactions are handicapped by substrate limitations. Imines with alpha-protons have been found to be unstable and not conducive to efficient reactions. Researchers continue their experiments on establishing practical ways to obtain optically pure nitrogen-containing compounds.
