Abstract

The thermalization process of azulene was studied through a new molecular heater-thermometer system. The latter quickly generates thermal energy and detected with high temporal and spatial resolution. The thermalization can be described by the energy transfer from the solute to the solvent and the thermal diffusion among the outer solvents. Its rate was found to be faster than the vibration relaxation rate that was previously reported.
