Abstract

A study was conducted to analyze conduction band energies for nanocrystalline TiO2(anastase) electrodes in contact with aqueous electrolytes. A reflectance technique was utilized to carry out the analysis. Potentials were controlled using the PAR 273 potentiostat linked to a three-electrode cell. Results indicated that the pH independence was correlated to an eventual decoupling of proton intercalation from electron addition.
