Abstract

Research was conducted to examine the microstructural and nonlinear optical properties of silica-titania sol-gel film doped with PbS quantum dots. X-ray diffraction, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy and Rutherford backscattering spectrometry were used for the analysis of structural characteristics while the nonlinear m-line method and degenerate four-wave mixing were used for the study of the resonant nonlinear optical characteristics. It was found that sol-gel is a well-adapted method for the production of semiconductor doped thin glass films.
