Abstract

A study was conducted to investigate the use of charge-transfer complexes as candidates for molecular ferroelectrics with the use of robust electron-lattice associations. It presents the structural, optical and dielectric attributes of a new complex of 5,10-dihydro-5,10-dimethylphenazine with 2,5-dimethyl-7,7,8,8-tetracyano-p-quinodimethane as an example of dielectric phase transition accompanied by the order-order phenomenon of the deformation of fractionally charged molecules.
