Abstract

A series of studies that examine the operational properties of a high temperature superconducting synchronous motor of five to six hundred watts capacity are described. An experiment using ac 220V stator phase voltage and dc 4A excitation current and where the synchronous speed runs at 1800 rpm is discussed. A comparison of experimental results with theoretical predictions was carried out.
