Abstract
- The development of a 1T/1kA-class alternating current (AC) superconducting coil is described. The superconductor used for the AC coil, which is labeled 'full-cable,' consists of seven subcables which are made up of 12 strands. To examine the stability, the sub-cable coil and single strand coil were also fabricated and tested. Results confirm that the quench point of the developed AC coil reaches to 1.396(sub peak)/1288A(sub peak).
