Abstract
- A technique for computing the self field effects of a stacked Bi-2223 high temperature superconductor is presented. The procedure involves defining the self-field factors of both parallel and normal magnetic fields in relation to the superconducting tape surface. The results of the self field effect calculations were used used to produce a proposal for the optimum design of an octagonal structured bus bar that exhibits minimum self field effects.
