Abstract

Strict controls on experiments using animals in biomedical research have been imposed on Polish researchers. The new controls, modeled after those in effect elsewhere in Europe, require better conditions in animal facilities, such as clean cages and proper food. The number of animals used for research in educational institutions has been reduced.
