Estimation of regional left ventricular wall stresses in intact canine hearts

Research was conducted to study regional left ventricular wall stresses in dog hearts. Myocardial marker technology and regional modeling assumptions were utilized to determine simultaneous wall stresses at various locations. Experimental results indicated that the heterogeneity in curvature in the walls brought about differences in left ventricular wall stresses between the Ant wall and the Lat and Pos walls.
