Abstract: Disruption of sblA in Streptomyces lividans is discussed. This disruption makes expression of a heterologous alpha-amylase gene in the presence of glucose possible. In a transposition mutant of S. lividans TK24, the usually glucose-repressible expression of a heterologous alpha amylase gene was rendered resistant to glucose repression.
