Abstract

Stroitransgaz undertakes much of the pipe construction work for the Russian gas company Gazprom, valued at billion dollars per annum. The company was owned by Gazprom but is now a privately owned firm. Gazprom has retained ownership of only 0.30% of its stock. Many of the major stock holders are related to executives of Gazprom. Gazprom officials supported Stroitransgaz's aim to undertake construction work for the Russian government in Greece. Stroitransgaz has been able to obtain 1.14 billion shares in Gazprom when they failed to fulfill a contract.
