Abstract
- The synthesis of unnimolecular reverse micellar dendrimers that combine a unique polar interior with activating functional groups and a nonpolar corona that resembles the reaction solvent is presented. It involves the tetradecyl-substituted benzyl bromide as the terminal unit and the methyl ester functionalized diphenol as the repeat unit. The dendrimers are designed to catalyze reactions that have a nascent positive charge developed during the transition state.
