Online ticketing is already a reality in Australia, requiring only an Internet connection and a credit card. Typically, the procedure involves selecting an event, specifying the number of tickets needed and a date, entering credit card details, and receiving a confirmation. Tickets are either forwarded though the mail, or a customer can pick them up. The most obvious advantage to buying tickets online is convenience, but another plus involves a purchaser's ability to make a better buying decision because of the wealth of information available via the Web.
