Syntheses and metal ion complexation of novel 8-hydroxyquinoline-containing diaza-18-crown-6 ligands and analogues

Research concerning ion-selective sensor developing to monitor metal ion concentrations in aqueous solutions has been conducted. Proton-ionizable ligating units have been incorporated into ion-selective macrocycles to provide concomitant changes in the photophysical properties of the system.
