Abstract
- It is necessary to change environmentalism if it is to be properly aligned with the UK Labour party's modernisation agenda, according to a pamphlet from the Fabian Society entitled 'Environmental Modernisation.' Environmentalism must be split into its constituent elements and then linked with the Labour party's 'Third Way.' The key aspect of environmental modernisation is the identification of win-win situations in which profitability and environmental protection can be united. In all the elements of the new environmental modernisation agenda, it is not necessary to battle with the complicated inter-generational aspects of sustainable development.
