Pseudobactin biogenesis in the plant growth-promoting rhizobacterium Pseudomonas strain B10: identification and functional analysis of the L-ornithine N(sup)5-oxygenase (psbA) gene

Results demonstrate that L-Ornithine N(sup)5-oxygenase gene of Pseudomonas strain B10 catalyzes the conversion of L-Ornithine to its N(sup)5-hydoxyl derivative. Data indicate that the gene is monocistronic with iron negatively influencing its transcription indicating to the presence of a siderophore pseudobactinB10 in Pseudomonas strain B10.
