Norepinephrine alters exercise oxygen consumption in heart failure patients

Abstract

This article compares the effects of norepinephrine infusions on oxygen utilization in heart failure patients and healthy adults during intense exercise. Results indicate that norepinephrine decreases oxygen efficiency and contributes to exercise intolerance in heart failure patients but has no adverse effects on healthy subjects.
