Validation of the Inventory of Depressive Symptomatology (IDS) in cocaine dependent inmates

This study evaluates the validity of a psychological assessment tool used to measure depressive symptomatology in cocaine-addicted inmates of a county jail. Results establish the construct validity, concurrent validity, and internal consistency of the test and indicate that it is appropriate for use with drug-dependent and prison populations.
