Abstract: Research reveals the diversity of the two Helicobacter pylori strains with respect to gene profile and the encoded DNA methyltransferases specificity. Twentyfive open reading frames are involved in the coding of the enzyme as evidenced by restriction analysis, homology searches, gene cloning and genomic mapping of the methylated bases.
