Abstract

Results indicate a retardation of the rate of transfer of the excitation energy from the peripheral chlorophyll of photosystem II D2 polypeptide to the electron-transfer pigments. Data further show that the chlorophyll associated with His117 of D2 is important for excitation energy transfer to the electron-transfer pigments.
