Enhanced symbiotic performance by Rhizobium tropici glycogen synthase mutants

Research shows that a transposon-induced mutant of rhizobium tropici encode a product very similar to glycogen synthase and lacks glycogen. The mutant exhibits a decrease in high-molecular weight exopolysaccharide and increased symbiotic nitrogen fixation and respiration.
