Abstract

The composition of ammonia-oxidizing bacteria in agricultural soil changes depending on the type of irrigation used. Nitrosospira-like populations become dominant when fertilizer-amended water is used and Nitrosomonas-like populations become dominant when wastewater effluent is used.
