Abstract: Research describing the mechanism of aerobic oxidation of alcohols using the catalytic system of Ruthenium/TEMPO is presented. Particular attention is given to the process of alcohol oxidation into ketones and aldehydes and to the transfer mediating properties of TEMPO.
