Abstract

Two classes of block-based discrete multitone (DMT) transceivers are examined: the system with a general prefix (GP-DMT); and the system with zero padding (ZP-DMT). It is shown that optimal transceivers that minimize the transmission power for a given bit rate and probability can be provided in closed form.
