Abstract

A comparative analysis of the gal-lac gene cluster in Streptococcus salivarius and Streptococcus thermophilus reveals that the Shine-Dalgarno sequences of galT and galE are identical in both, but the ribosome binding site of the latter exhibits two nucleotides difference from that of the former.
