Artificial DNA-bending six-zinc finger peptides with different charged linkers: distinct kinetic properties of DNA bindings

Research examines the kinetic stability of bent DNA-protein complexes by six-zinc finger proteins by joining two DNA binding domains of transcription factor Sp1 with 10 amino acid residue linkers of different charge. Gel mobility data indicate that the proteins recognize the expected sequences of DNA with similar DNA binding specificities.
