Identification of an active site ligand for a group I ribozyme catalytic metal ion

Research has been conducted on the intron substrate functional groups coordinating metal ions. The results of the single and double sulfur atomic substitution experiments conducted to test the effect of these functional groups on the catalytic metal ion binding are presented.
