Abstract: Research has been conducted on the atom transfer cyclization reactions. The details of the bis(tributyltin)-initiated atom transfer cyclization reactions of 4-pentenyl iodoacetates which have led to 5-(3-iodopropyl)-substituted dihydro-2(3H)-furanone formation are presented.
