Abstract
- This article addresses the problem of overclaiming in social science research. The authors maintain overclaiming occurs most often in voting research in which respondents falsely claim to have voted, public opinion research in which respondents claim to know about a fictitious issue, and market research in which respondents claim to know about a fictitious product.
