Abstract: Research has been conducted on the intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction. The thermolysis of dienals prepared in the presence of zinc metal with ethyl 2-bromo-methylacrylate has produced tricyclic cycloadducts in the intramolecular Diels-Alder reaction.
