Abstract
- Results suggest that antihydrophobic ethanol increases the solubility of hydrophobic molecules in water and the carbon alkylation involves a transition state with benzyl group packing onto the phenol ring. Further, oxygen alkylation employs the n electrons of the phenoxide oxygen as the nucleophile.
