Synthesis of substituted isoquinolines by electrophilic cyclization of iminoalkynes

Research has been conducted on the tert-butyl imines of o-(1-alkenyl)benzaldehydes and analogues. Results indicate that the electrophilic cyclization of these imines provides the synthesis of a variety of substituted isoquinolines.
