'Don't worry, Clinton is Megawatt's brother': the mass media, rumours, economic structural transformation and deligitimization of Suharto's New Order

The May, 1998 Indonesian revolution against Suharto was largely fought on the Internet and often through rumors about global capitalism. New Order capitalism was not capable of replying to attacks from rumor and in alternative media that bridged the gap between Marxist agency and structure, thus hastening revolution.
