Ca (super)2+ binding to both the heavy and light chains of factor VIII is required for cofactor activity

Research has been conducted on the factor VIII interactions with Ca (super)2+. Results indicate the existence of Ca (super)2+ binding sites in factor VIII and that Ca (super)2+ must be bound to either heavy or light chain to generate active factor VIII.
